Prediction Pool Week 7
Oilers (5-1) vs Stars (2-4) Stars lead season series 1-0
For the 5th time in 6 games the Oilers were led by Veinot, 3 assists this time and he is our new scoring leader. Flinn and Gallant each had 1 and 1, MacQueen and Ross both scored 1 and lone assists went to Cleveland, Poirier and Redden. I guess they also might have been led by Grease who notched the leagues first shut out, stopping all 7 shots that came his way. The Oilers are riding high atop the league, back to back championships and now they can take revenge for their only loss of the season. Even more impressive is they have done it on a season opening 6 game road trip. Maybe their home arena is getting some last minute renovations done. The Stars halted their 3 game losing streak mostly due to Bent who scored 3 of their 4 goals. Tracey broke his season long slump by grabbing 2 apples, Webber had 2 as well. Ryan scored the other Stars goal and single helpers went to Giles, Munden, Myrick and O’Hearn. Thanksgiving addition – Oilers are thankful for the run of unprecedented winning, trying to become the first threepeaters in HRHL history. Stars are thankful that having a good time does not require constant winning and that JB is bringing pizza win or lose.
Stars 4 – Oilers 3
Lions (2-4) vs Rhinos (4-2) Rhinos lead season series 1-0
Well the Lions helped me out by not scoring at all, if teams are going to lose I really appreciate the no goals, saves lots of time when putting the scores in at 2am. The Rhinos tried to help but Ballsy couldn’t help himself and scored 1, apples went to Fougere and Haverstock. Hard to come up with much to write about when 2 teams combine for 1 goal. Short and sweet, I like it. Thanksgiving addition – Lions are thankful that Turple doesn’t miss much, not the same team with him out last week. Marty is also thankful that Hartnett has decided to snipe a few this season. Rhinos are thankful that the new Flames management made a trade that allowed them to grab Fougere with their 4th pick. This guy is easily a bottom third rounder, getting him in 4 is a steal. They would like to be thankful for a doctor fixing Manson asap.
Lions 3 – Rhinos 2
Ratpack (1-5) vs Flames (4-1-1) Flames lead season series 1-0
Glazebrook scored both Ratpack goals and Huntsy assisted on them both. Corkill and McNeil each added an assist. The Pack have struggled after their season opening win and have allowed twice as many goals as they have scored. The goals against are not out of whack with the rest of the league but they need to find a spark on offence. Newcombe led the Flames this week with 3 helpers, he is much better at getting assists than he is at entering his pool picks, He has forgot to enter them 4 out of 5 weeks. It took just 2 games for LeBlanc to recapture his goal scoring touch from last season, 2 goals this week. Bray and Decker each scored one and lone assists went to Ashley, Bachynski, Daly and MacIsaac. Thanksgiving addition – The Pack are thankful for small territory wrestling gigs. They are also thankful that Eddie and Josh host a great room, tough to do sometimes when you sit in the basement but not for these two. The Flames are thankful that most of their friends are fit. Team speed dominates the Flames lineup as does close ties.

Shootout scoring race:

Samson/LaPointe/Billard/Coombs/Bray – 0/1
Notes:
12 guys went 3 for 3, I think that is a record. 2 weeks in a row we have had lots of pool perfection, tough to gain ground on the leaders. This week the top 3 teams play the bottom 3 teams so if there are no upsets expect a lot more 3 for 3’s.
I think these 2 refs we had Friday are my favorites. 15 goals scored this week and 14 of them had 2 apples. Even though there were a few phantom assist I prefer that to the guys who only give the most obvious of assists.
My fantasy football dream season has come to a crashing halt. Unless Puca Nacua gets less than 14 points tonight I am done in Guillotine. Buffalo’s D does not help my chances, should be done by halftime. My other team had 3 guys combine for 2 points, bye week fucked me, oh well, still tied in first but not going undefeated hurts.
Tua gets the chance to be an OT hero, first pass is an INT. More of the same, those concussions ruined him.
Real Deal and Hartnett are in shock, time management for the Commanders is not a strength.

Be great to see Milwaukee and TB in the world series. Anyone but the Dodgers right now would make me happy.
Still happy for Teoscar if the Dodgers win, seems like a great dude.
LIV golfers are returning to PGA, made millions and not many repercussions, seems like a win for them.
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving, I had turkey and ham, then roast beef the next day. Big protein weekend.
