Lions (3-4) vs Ratpack (2-5) Lions lead season series 1-0
Chappy grabs 4 apples to lead the Lions, he has 9 points in 4 games, could he post a career year at the ripe old age of 53? Parsons scores 2 beauties and adds an assist, still has quick hands in tight at the ripe old age of 53. Cormier scores his first of his HRHL career and adds an assist, it is rumoured he thinks Parsons and his dad played together when they were kids. Hartnett has 2 assists, that gives him 5 points in 6 games, on pace for a 21 point season. Why are all these Lions on such great point paces yet they are a below 500 team? States and Taiani each scored 1 and solo assists to Taiani and Murphy round out the lions scoring. Glazebrook reminded everyone of the days when he dominated the scoring race in the HRHL, 2 goals and 3 assists, grabbing a point on every Ratpack goal. Hard to believe such a smart hockey player could be a Rangers fan. Huntsy scored a hatty and added an apple, Corky had 3 helpers. That line plays like they did the rest of the way then look out for the Pack. Longo was the only Pack member who had a point outside of the top line but it might have been the pass of the week for his apple. Eddie was out of town last week and the team was able to play without the fear of being yelled at, let’s see if he come back as angry as he left. Condolences for the loss of granny bud. Murphy is on a tryout with the Leafs in Edmonton this week so expect the Pack to take full advantage.
Ratpack 3 – Lions 2
Stars (3-4) vs Flames (4-2-1) Flames lead season series 1-0
Tracey follows up last week’s break out performance with 3 helpers to lead the Stars to victory. These guys who don’t play summer hockey are usually a step behind for a few weeks. Case in point Munden scores 2 and has a game saving shot block late. Ryan continues his hot start that has him sitting top 4 in the scoring race as he nabs 1 and 1, Bent stays tied with him in fourth scoring once. Clark and O’Hearn each grab an assist keeping the Stars defence corps the highest scoring in the league. Billard scores for the Flamers, he has scored in every game he has played and has multiple goals half of the time. LeBlanc continues to shine after returning from a lacerated vulva, this time netting 1 and 1. Newcombe added 2 helpers, Daly scored 1 and single assists went to Bray, Coombs and Decker. Flames dominated the Stars last time these teams met, can the Stars meet their work ethic?
Stars 4 – Flames 3
Oilers (5-2) vs Rhinos (4-3) Oilers lead season series 1-0
Veinot scores 2 to hold onto a share of the Rocket Richard lead and he is up by 2 for the Art Ross. Cleveland and Flinn each get 2 assists, Flinner scores 1 and single assists go to Iceton and Nowak. Baxter scored 1 and assisted on the other in a game where they were so short they needed a spare. Pecarski scored 1 and single assists went to Fougere and Phil LeBlanc. The doctor has yet to clear Manson despite Ballsy pleas. Looks to be a few more weeks till the Rhinos get their anchor back, it can’t come too soon as all the players think they can just miss games until then. Look for the Oilers to bounce back and maintain sole possession of first. Havey returns this week, a win and a big night could vault both his team and him to the top of their respective races.
Oilers 4 – Rhinos 3
Shootout scoring race:
Haverstock – 1/1
Samson/LaPointe/Billard/Coombs/Bray – 0/1
Notes:
Big bounce back in FFB this week, 5-1 to start the season, 97 percent to make the playoffs.
See ya Dodgers, all the money in the world can’t prevent injuries.
Milwaukee will be well rested for the World Series, does that help or hurt. Has to help the pitching anyway.
Biggest surprise of the HRHL season so far, Rick Flinn top 8 in scoring and not playing on the Oilers top line, great production value there.
Darryl Cameron is making his season debut this week, which team you ask?
Jalen Hurts to miss the season because of blood clots. I had blood clots in my lungs and never missed a game, my doctor was pissed but hey, what are you gonna do?
KC is 5-0, are they the Super Bowl favorite?
San Fran is 5-0, are they the Super Bowl favorite?
Minny is 5-0, not even asking, Bears will beat them. Sorry Longo and Dan.
McDavid has 23 points in 8 games, on pace for 240+ points, think he can get 175? I would love to see another 200 point season.
At .813 Edmonton has the best winning percentage in the NHL, anyone see that coming after the season opening 6-5 OT loss to Vancouver?
Eichel is second in scoring with 18 in 10 games, dude is really good just overshadowed for some reason.
Nate got punched in the face and says he may be done fighting. Talks about how tough it was growing up in the Maritimes. Yeah the tough street of Colby Village in Cole Harbour were bad back in the day. Ha.
Bouchard tied for third in scoring, I grabbed him in our pool for Glazebrook with the 16th pick, he wasn’t happy, bet he is now.
Two weeks till some election somewhere.
France is burning down. People are pissed at the cost of living. I went shopping this morning, needed some sweats, $84 for a pair of sweatpants. I might burn something down too.
Should we ask Hellebuyck to spare?
No one went 3 for 3 this week and 8 guys went 0 for 3, pool is back to normal.
